TERMS OF SERVICE
Welcome to Rotten Apples. By using our website, requesting service, submitting a device for repair, or otherwise doing business with us, you agree to the following Terms of Service.
1. Device Inspection and Pre-Existing Conditions
Upon receiving your device, Rotten Apples will perform an inspection and a series of tests before any work begins. We may inspect and test battery function, ports, cameras, buttons, speakers, microphones, display function, and other relevant components. We may also inspect for signs of liquid damage, corrosion, burn marks, or triggered Liquid Spill Indicators.
Rotten Apples is not responsible for problems, failures, or damage that existed before service, whether known or unknown at the time the device was received. If we discover an issue that may affect the device’s repairability or functionality, we will attempt to notify you.
2. Estimates, Additional Repairs, and Authorization
We make every effort to diagnose devices accurately. However, some devices present hidden or secondary issues that may not be visible until repair begins.
If your device requires additional parts, labor, or services beyond the original estimate, you will be notified before any additional chargeable work is performed. No additional repair work will be completed without your approval.
3. Warranty
Unless otherwise stated, repairs and replacement parts provided by Rotten Apples carry a 90-day limited parts and labor warranty from the date of service.
This warranty does not apply to:

liquid-damaged devices
-
devices that have been dropped, mishandled, abused, tampered with, or otherwise physically damaged after service
-
cracked glass, cracked screens, broken LCD or OLED panels, or similar accidental damage occurring after service
-
unrelated failures not directly caused by the original repair
Warranty coverage is limited to the specific repair or replacement part originally provided.
4. Liquid Damage Disclaimer
If a device shows evidence of liquid damage, including corrosion, residue, burn marks, or other related damage, Rotten Apples is not responsible for any future malfunction or failure of the device, even if the requested repair is completed successfully.
Liquid damage can cause progressive and unpredictable failure over time. A device may function normally when returned but later fail due to corrosion or previously existing internal damage. For that reason, all liquid-damaged devices are serviced without any guarantee of long-term reliability unless otherwise stated in writing.
5. Data Loss Disclaimer
Rotten Apples is not responsible for loss of data before, during, or after services are rendered. Data includes, but is not limited to, music, photos, videos, documents, calendars, contacts, applications, messages, and other stored information.
You are solely responsible for backing up your data before submitting a device for service. In some cases, reformatting, restoring, reinstalling software, or replacing storage components may be necessary to complete service.
6. Customer Privacy
Rotten Apples will not knowingly disclose your personal information except as necessary to provide service, process payment, communicate with you, comply with legal obligations, or as otherwise described in our Privacy Policy.
7. SMS Communications
By opting into SMS from a web form, during the repair check-in process, or through another method, you agree to receive SMS messages from Rotten Apples. These messages may include appointment reminders, repair status updates, order alerts, account notifications, billing notifications, and other service-related customer care messages. 8. Mail-In Repairs and Return Shipping
For qualifying mail-in repairs, Rotten Apples may cover standard return shipping after service is completed. Expedited, overnight, priority, or upgraded shipping services are not included unless specifically requested and paid for by the customer.
If upgraded return shipping is requested, the additional cost will be added to your invoice.
9. Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA)
If a repair or replacement part fails during the applicable warranty period, you may request Return Merchandise Authorization by contacting Rotten Apples at:

Please include “RMA” in the subject line of your email when applicable.
For approved mail-in warranty claims, Rotten Apples may cover standard USPS Priority return shipping. We do not cover overnight, expedited, or upgraded shipping unless agreed in writing.
10. Diagnostic Fees
If you request a service, repair, or diagnostic evaluation and then decline the recommended repair after the device has been evaluated, diagnostic fees may apply.
Current diagnostic fees are:

Notebooks/Desktops: $125.00
These fees do not apply if you approve the recommended repair. If you choose to surrender the device to Rotten Apples for recycling or disposal, we may waive the diagnostic fee at our discretion.
11. Customer Inspection Upon Return
When your device is returned to you, you should inspect it promptly and test all major functions. If you believe there is a problem related to the service performed, you must notify Rotten Apples as soon as possible.
For shipped repairs, any shipping damage must be reported within 48 hours of delivery. Claims reported after that period may be denied.
12. Payment Terms and Abandoned Property
Payment in full is due immediately upon receipt of your invoice unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Any device left unpaid or unclaimed for more than 90 days after the original invoice date may be considered abandoned, unless prohibited by applicable law. Abandoned devices may become the property of Rotten Apples and may be sold, recycled, or otherwise disposed of to recover costs.
13. Price Matching
Price matching is offered only for known direct competitors located within a 20-mile radius of the applicable Rotten Apples location. Competitors must operate a legitimate brick-and-mortar retail storefront.
We do not price match:

temporary sale pricing

coupons
-
Groupon or similar promotions
-
limited-time specials
-
unverifiable offers
Price matches must be based on published pricing, a written quote, or a directly verifiable phone quote.
14. Website Use
By using this website, you agree not to misuse the site, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with its operation, or use it for unlawful purposes.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rotten Apples shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or related to any service, repair, website use, shipping issue, data loss, or device failure, including loss of profits, business interruption, or loss of personal data.
Our total liability for any claim relating to service shall not exceed the amount actually paid by you for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
16. Changes to These Terms
Rotten Apples may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with the updated effective date.
